Experience

Sonali has worked as a professional freelance writer and editor for over a decade. From writing features and profiles on public figures to composing a guidebook on wheelchair accessible cafes in Mumbai, Sonali wears many hats. She started out as a reporter of India.com and has racked up clips in Vogue, Buzzfeed, Catapult and other publications. In 2021, The New York Times published her piece on the importance of touch during the pandemic. She is a 2024 Tin House Workshop Alum. With Static Media, Sonali is able to combine her passion for highlighting local cuisines with her journalism career.

Sonali holds a B.A in Economics and an M.A in Journalism from New York University.
