His art school background and professional experience as a journalist have allowed him to blend cultural history with source-based reporting to write features on fast food phenomenon, culinary TV shows, and Valentine's Day date night ideas. Richard has also spent several years on local radio as a DJ, news anchor, and regular guest.

Education

Richard earned his bachelor's degree in art history with a minor in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, a top-ranked fine arts school in Richmond, Virginia. He later earned his master's degree in journalism from New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, where he studied under professionals from CNN, NBC, Forbes, The Atlantic, and more.
