Experience

Emily is a Milwaukee-born, Amsterdam-based freelance writer and social media strategist. With over a decade of professional writing experience, in 2021, she left her career as an academic librarian to move abroad and pursue writing full-time. She covers food, travel, and sustainability topics — and spends as much time as possible traveling to new places, learning about global cuisines and the people that produced them. When she's not writing, you're likely to find her hunting down the best Mexican food in the city (no easy feat in the Netherlands), experimenting in the kitchen, or creating a detailed itinerary for her next trip.

Education

Emily has B.A.s in English literature and Italian studies, as well as M.A.s in language, literature, & translation and library & information science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
