Fall Beers, Crisis Relief, Festivals: This Week In Food Events

Fall festivities are beginning to pop up with beer tastings and series of dinners. The Luckyrice festival returns to New York for its eighth year while Tastemaker Collective makes its U.S. debut in San Francisco. Meanwhile, hurricane and earthquake relief is still in forward motion in New York and Miami.
The sixth annual Chefs for Equality fundraiser for the Human Rights Campaign was held this past Tuesday in Washington, D.C. The event invited 150 chefs including Bryan Voltaggio, Edward Lee, Pichet Ong, Erik Bruner-Yang, Peter and Lisa Chang to cook and dine to raise funds for HRC's educational work for LGBTQ equality.
The Upper East Side's Selena Rosa Mexicana has announced that they are planning relief efforts for those affected by the two earthquake that hit Mexico in the past two weeks.
The annual Luckyrice festival returns to New York tonight at the Mandarin Oriental. Chef Anito Lo will serve as host of the evening with local restaurants like Tim Ho Wan, Bricolage, Maharlika, Pok Pok, Babu Ji, Mr. Bing and more serving up dishes. Tickets are still available.
Tonight in Miami, Jungle Plaza is hosting a night of free food, drinks, entertainment and sunset yoga session for those affected by Hurricane Irma. Suggested donations of $20 will go to fund relief efforts.
Also tonight, Davio's in Manhattan is hosting a fall-themed beer tasting with Coney Island Brewing Company. Find tickets here.

The Spaniard in New York City will host a benefit dinner on Monday, September 25 for the Houston Food Bank. The bar will also be auctioning off work from local artist Oliver Jeffers as well as private cocktail classes from Attaboy and a private dinner for 10 made by Chefs PJ Calapa and Justin Smillie of Upland restaurant. All proceeds will benefit the food bank.
Tickets for the first ever U.S. Tastemaker Collective dining series in San Francisco are now available. Previously held in London, Dubai, Sydney and more, local acclaimed chefs like Dominique Crenn, Chad Robertson, Evan Rich, Daniel Patterson, and more are pairing up with guest chefs James Lowe, Sven Chartier, Juan Arbelaez and others to put on a series of dinners. The series will go from September 26 to October 1.
