Wine Spectator Announces 2017 Restaurant Awards
This year's Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards welcomed five newcomers to the Grand Award category, the magazine's most prestigious accolade.
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House (New York City), Grill 23 & Bar (Boston), Wally's (Beverly Hills) Les Climats (Paris) and PM & Vänner (Väzjö, Sweden) received the top award for the first time. Eighty-four other restaurants were also given the recognition.
Brahm Callahan, Food Republic contributor and corporate beverage director for the Himmel Hospitality Group, which includes Grill 23 & Bar, tells Wine Spectator that he's very proud of the restaurant.
"I am proud of my team and the dedication they have shown in continually striving to make the program better every day," says Callahan. "It has been a privilege to be a part of the history of a program like the one at Grill 23 & Bar, and this accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication to wine and our guests shown by those who were there throughout the evolution of the program."
This award is given to restaurants whose wine programs are vast, include quality wines from top producers and pair well with the menu.
