North America's First Brewery At Sea To Set Sail
Cruise ships are fast becoming amusement parks, concert venues, dining destinations, shopping malls and resorts at sea. Now Carnival Cruise Line is introducing North America's first brewery on a boat, giving local beer an oceanic twist.
Operated by Miami's Concrete Beach Brewery, the new RedFrog Pub & Brewery will be located aboard Carnival's largest and newest ship, the Carnival Vista, and will feature three exclusive maritime brews: the ThirstyFrog Port Hoppin' IPA, the ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat and the FriskyFrog Java Stout. According to a press release, you'll taste floral hops with notes of passion fruit and citrus overtones in the IPA, while the Caribbean wheat is an unfiltered lager with banana and spice aromas. The Java Stout is a traditional coffee stout with just enough caffeine to keep you going through the next two or three huge buffets.
"It's common for vacationers to want to test out the local beer, and Carnival Vista has taken the concept of local and applied it to the decks of their ship," said Concrete Beach brewmaster Jon Carpenter in a statement.
