Kickstart This: The Museum Of Food And Drink Needs Your Help
The newly established Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) is in the early stages of launching a first-of-its-kind exhibit in New York City. The non-profit was founded by Booker & Dax owner Dave Arnold and has begun a Kickstarter campaign to fund: BOOM! The Puffing Gun and the Rise of Breakfast Cereal. The project will explain the science behind cereal production and explain how the industry became the behemoth it currently is. The centerpiece will be an authentic, fully-functioning puffing gun that will pump out cereal for visitors.
The organization is hoping to raise $80,000 in three weeks through Kickstarter. Until the museum is able to find a permanent home, MOFAD will consist of a series of mobile pop-ups like BOOM! Supporters of this first exhibit will be rewarded with prizes including tote bags, the opportunity to create a custom cereal with Dave Arnold and an invitation to a VIP "Puff Party," which sounds pretty good.
The Kickstarter page has raised over $13,000 in its first few days, with members of the museum's board including Mario Batali, Wylie Dufresne and David Chang promoting the exhibit in the video below. To donate visit the online campaign page.
