Video: Bryce And Jack Gilmore On Keeping It A Family Business

"The rule was, you couldn't burn the house down," half-jokes Austin restaurateur Jack Gilmore in our interview with him and his son, Bryce, at April's Austin Food & Wine Festival. They were talking about Thanksgiving cooking traditions, emphasis on the cooking. Hands-on cooking. The two make quite the duo. Bryce is the owner of the acclaimed wood-fire restaurant Barley Swine and was named a Food & Wine Best New Chef in 2011 — as well as a James Beard Award semi-finalist. His father, Jack, is an Austin legend and is the current chef-owner of Jack Allen Kitchen. With Father's Day upon us, here's a colorful exchange between to two.
