Word Of The Day: Halvah

Even though we're not particularly observant fasters, Ramadan always incites a craving for halvah.

Halvah is a dessert made with honey and sesame seeds with a texture similar to nougat. You know, that stuff in your candy bar that is neither nut nor caramel. As far as Middle Eastern sweets go, it doesn't get much better than this fluffy, chewy stuff.
