Sam's Club Sells Individual Rotisserie Chicken Pieces, But There's A Catch

Rival warehouse clubs Costco and Sam's Club have distinctions, like how each store marks its discontinued items on its price tags, and the fact that Sam's Club's rotisserie chickens are actually cheaper (by a cent, but still cheaper!). And speaking of chickens, did you know that Sam's Club actually sells four-packs of its rotisserie breasts for about $4? There is a catch to this convenience, though, and that's that they are only sold while supplies last.

Rather than always having them in stock, like they do the hot-ticket full chickens, the breasts are apparently only packaged up and sold when the individual stores have leftovers. That means you, unfortunately, will not find them online at Sam's Club's website or app to order for pick-up or delivery; you'll have to actually head inside the store to see if there are any for purchase. You might try right around 8 a.m. if you're a Plus member (membership does have its perks) or when the locations open to the general club members. But if they don't have them, they don't have them, and you'll have to try again on your next trip.

Where to find them, and how you can use them

You might be thinking you'll just head to where the regular rotisseries are sold in Sam's Club to pick up the four-pack of breasts, but these pieces of chicken are actually cold, so they'll be in a refrigeration case. It makes sense; if there are any rotisserie chickens left at close, they would have to be refrigerated after getting cut up in order to remain safe to eat. Specifically, you can find them where the prepared meals are, like the prepackaged salads, the macaroni and cheese trays, and the pinwheel wraps.

As to why you might want to purchase cold, day-old chicken from Sam's Club, it's convenient. It saves you from having to pick apart a rotisserie chicken (or four), which isn't for everyone; people often miss a lot of the meat or just straight-up don't feel like it. With just the breasts, you can bring them home and immediately use them. These breasts are also great for those who don't like dark meat.

Even cold, there are many different ways to use rotisserie chicken breasts. As a topping on salads, it removes a huge step from your weekly lunch meal prep. Make chicken salad by easily shredding the breasts with your stand or hand mixer, or roll them up with wraps, or even use them in casseroles or one-pot meals.
