Starbucks' New Holiday Cups Stick With Its Signature Red And Green Theme
The holidays are officially here. At least, they are at Starbucks. The coffee giant recently unveiled its new annual holiday cup collection for 2023, featuring festive seasonal colors and patterns. The cups will be available at nationwide locations starting November 2 alongside some returning and new winter drinks like the new Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai.
"Share the Joy" is the official theme this year, and the company's traditional holiday colors of red and green are definitely well-represented. However this is some variety with the latest designs as Starbucks has highlighted its red hues with pops of magenta this time around, in order to give the patterns a little extra brightness. According to creative director Kristy Cameron, the company was all about "bright, bold, uplifting colors."
Starbucks has been celebrating the holiday season with special cups since 1997. This year's collection is notable for several new signature patterns, with each inspired by iconic seasonal images, from the woolen winter scarves evoked in party plaid motifs to the package-wrapping ribbon designs bringing to mind lots of holiday gifts.
New drinks are also part of Starbucks' holiday menu
There are five new signature Starbucks holiday cup designs this year including Party Plaid, Ribbon Spool, Peppermint Swirl, Bauble Wrap, and Frosted Bauble. Peppermint Swirl cups will be particularly appropriate for returning winter menu favorites like the Peppermint Mocha, while Frosted Bauble cold cups would be great for the brand-new Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai drink, which the company calls "a love letter to gingerbread and ginger." Also new this year is the Oleato Gingerbread Oatmilk Latte. Returning holiday drinks include the Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and the Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte.
Even better, each will also come with complimentary gift tag space this year where you can write a festive note and really take part in the spirit of "sharing the joy." There's no word yet if Starbucks will offer seasonal promotions like they've done in the past including BOGO deals, but the tags would definitely conjure the idea of giving the gift of a holiday drink.
