Denny's Revives Fan-Favorite Bacon Menu After 10-Year Hiatus

Despite more meatless meals and plant-based ingredients on the market than ever before, the population at large clearly still has a hankering for meat, specifically smoked, salted pork with a smell that wakes anyone up in the morning with longing. Denny's has certainly taken note of this and, for the first time in ten years, will debut its Baconalia menu. Introduced in 2011, Denny's Baconalia menu highlights the porky product and will load everything from pancakes to ice cream sundaes with copious amounts of it.

The restaurant chain is partnering with Hormel and, for the first time in history, will use its Black Label bacon exclusively in the limited-time menu. In response to the menu's long hiatus, Denny's president John Dillon said in a press release, "Many things have changed over the past decade, but one thing has remained the same, and that is America's love of and obsession with bacon." In addition to the restaurant's regular menu, Denny's Baconalia menu will offer seven new bacon-filled dishes.

Bacon moves from side dish to star of the show

Among the offerings are Premium Bacon Loaded Pancakes, Triple Bacon Sampler, the Bacon Obsession Burger, and the Sweet Maple Bacon Sundae. Rounding out the seven new items are the Hormel Black Label Bacon Slam featuring buttermilk pancakes, four cherrywood bacon strips, eggs, and hashbrowns; the Sweet and Smoky BLT&E which is basically a classic BLT with eggs and bacon jam, and the What's Shakin' Bacon Milk Shake which blends vanilla ice cream with maple-flavored syrup and diced bacon.

In true Denny's style, the new menu will be available every day, all day long but will only be around from June 21 through August 29. The most loyal bacon fans will appreciate the fact that, during this time frame, Baconalia merchandise like beach towels, accessories, and stickers will be available for purchase on Dinerdrip.com, allowing them to show their bacon pride well beyond summer.
