You Don't Actually Need A Bag To Microwave Popcorn Kernels

If you love movie theater popcorn and want to replicate it at home, there's an easy way. Simply cook the kernels and oil in your microwave without a bag.

Take 1 tablespoon of canola oil and mix it with ¼-cup of popcorn kernels in a microwave-safe bowl, ensuring the kernels are evenly coated with oil.

After mixing it all, cover the bowl with a plate to keep the kernels inside as they pop. Next, set your microwave for three to five minutes.

When the popping sound slows down, that's a sign it’s ready. Be careful when picking up the bowl, and perhaps use potholders as both the popcorn and the dishes will be hot.
