Summer has officially arrived, which means super cool opportunities to give back are in order. Earlier this week, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. in Brooklyn, who are no strangers to boozy ice cream creations, handed out vodka-spiked popsicles to benefit Central Park. To celebrate New York City’s Pride Weekend, Marlow and Sons (also in Brooklyn) is throwing a party on Saturday night. An upstate-New York bar and restaurant is serving cocktails to benefit forest conservation. All this and more in this week’s food activism!

• On Wednesday, Brooklyn’s OddFellows Ice Cream Co. and New Zealand-based vodka company, VDKA 6100, partnered to bring the good people of Williamsburg pay-what-you-will vodka-based popsicles. The man behind the ice cream, Sam Mason, dished out Spicy Greyhound Pops and White Russian Pops all day. All proceeds went to the Central Park Conservancy.
• As part of #EatUpSummer, numerous restaurants and cafés in New York like Olmsted, Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream, Franny’s, Narcissa, Cosme and more are donating some proceeds to Edible Schoolyard NYC, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating NYC public schoolkids about the importance of healthy food choices. • Brooklyn restaurant Marlow & Sons is throwing a party to celebrate Pride Weekend with DJ Dammerson on Saturday. All money made from Yola Mezcal cocktails will go to benefit Gays Against Guns.
• All summer long, Prospect at Scribner’s Catskill Lodge in Hunter, New York is donating $1 for every Fern Gully cocktail sold to the Catskill Forest Association. The jalapeño, cucumber and gin cocktail was inspired by the lush green scenery of Hunter Mountain.
