Eric Ripert's Emmy-Winning Show Avec Eric Is Back With A New Focus, New Channel

Chef Eric Ripert in Australia on the set of his Cooking Channel show, "Avec Eric"

Celebrity chef Eric Ripert is back on TV, with a new season of his old show on a new channel. Previously on PBS, Ripert's Emmy-winning program, Avec Eric, makes its Cooking Channel debut at 9:30 a.m. EST on Saturday, February 28. The show's original director, Geoffrey Drummond, is still calling the shots, but the latest incarnation is more action-packed, according to Ripert's rep. The revamped 12-episode series, produced by Ace Content, follows the chef and co-owner of New York seafood mecca Le Bernardin as he travels the globe in search of culinary inspiration, with Australia and South Korea among his notable destinations. In a trailer for the series, we see the celebrated French cook fishing for barramundi, taking his first bite of crocodile tail and digging up daikon dangerously close to the North Korea border.
