Los Angeles: Ricardo Zarate Bringing 'Ceviche Nights' Dinner Series To Mo-Chica
Acclaimed Peruvian chef Ricardo Zarate and partner Stephane Bombet have teamed with Food GPS's Joshua Lurie in bringing some of Los Angeles' top chefs to downtown restaurant Mo-chica with one goal in mind: to push the boundaries of ceviche. Taking place on December 9 and 16, the Ceviche Nights dinner series is inspired in part by Zarate's upcoming seafood-focused cevicheria Paiche, slated to open in 2013. Participating chefs include Josiah Citrin, Food & Wine Best New Chef Bryant Ng (The Spice Table) and Los Angeles magazine 2012 Chef Of The Year Kris Yenbamroong (Night + Market).
At each dinner Zarate will feature ceviche variations like hot ceviche and duck ceviche. December 9 is Uni Night, with all four ceviche courses (and dessert!) starring sea urchin. Local craft beer, to be determined, will be served with each course.
The dinners run $75-$85, with seatings every half hour from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are available via Eventbrite. 10% of all proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
