Can Great Design Encourage Healthy Eating?
Recently it seems like everyone is jumping on the healthy food bandwagon, from Mayor Bloomberg to Michelle Obama. While politicians may be busy trying to get us to eat healthy by launching campaigns and passing laws, Chinese artist Daizi Zheng is taking a different approach. Zheng has created packaging for a series of healthy snacks made to look like junk food called Stereotype. "Using the recognizable stereotyping packaging would make people feel more physically and physiologically connected with those daily objects," she says. "By giving the good food a little makeover, it could contribute to the availability of healthy food and encourages people to make a change for their everyday life." We think Zheng is onto something.
