The Green Beast Absinthe Punch Recipe
Last night the Manhattan Cocktail Classic kicked off in high style with an adult-beverage filled extravaganza at the New York Public Library. A sold-out crowd of 3,000 came dressed to the nines to nibble on artisanal pickles, popsicles and mac-n-cheese while downing their drinks. According to the events organizers over 100 top tier bartenders served up over 40,000 handmade cocktails at the event.
Some of our favorites were the classic Negronis being mixed up by Tony Abou-Ganim at the Campari bar and New Amsterdam Gin's Gentlemen's Tea which was decidedly not girly despite being garnished with rose petals. We also really enjoyed a drink sipped out of a hollowed out pineapple, and a chipotle-spiked tequila drink someone handed us on the third floor, though the details are kind of fuzzy on both of those. Also a hit was this Green Beast Absinthe Punch served by Pernod Ricard. They've shared this simple but classy recipe with us, so you can recreate it at home. The recipe is written in proportions so you can make a single cup or an entire bowlful.
- 1 part Pernod Absinthe
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- 1 part part
- 4 parts water
